So what exactly does make a good photographer? Well, there are lots of things. One of the most important, however, is the communication between the photographer and the client. Everybody has to be on the same page when it comes to producing images that the client wants. Working with a variety of people is a photographer’s bread and butter; this is the environment in which we thrive. So, what are some keys to communicating with your photographer?
First of all there has to be an openness between the photographer and client from the first meeting. We ask questions about location, the atmosphere desired, and general goals of the photographs. This stuff is actually pretty fun for us. The more creative you want to get, the more excited we become about making something wonderful. It is helpful to be as candid and clear as possible about what you want so that the we know what sort of thing you’re looking for, as we are getting to know you. Our goal is to make you, the client, as happy as possible. We want to make awesome images and we want you to be yourself during the photoshoot!
Getting to know you more at the beginning can help us achieve the look or desired expression, giving you an overall good end product. Music helps, so bring your favorite tunes. Don’t be afraid to let the photographer know what you want!
